The Grand

The Grand is an improvisational comedy set during the final table of the Grand Championship of Poker, one of the world's most prestigious high-stakes tournaments. The plot follows six diverse players competing for a large cash prize. Among them is Jack Faro, who needs the winnings to prevent an investor from taking over his grandfather's casino. He faces a variety of opponents, including the professional Larry Schwartzman, his sister Lainie, a lucky amateur named Andy Andrews, a cruel player known as The German, and a man named Harold.

Directed by Zak Penn, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Matt Bierman, the film features an ensemble cast including Woody Harrelson, Werner Herzog, Dennis Farina, David Cross, Cheryl Hines, and Richard Kind. Produced by Eleven Eleven Films, Insomnia Media Group, and IMG Film 7, the project was made with a budget of 5 million USD.
