Amanda Shelton, a chef with more enthusiasm than skill, has inherited a restaurant from her mother and is struggling to keep it afloat. A chance encounter at a market leaves her with a magical crab, and soon her cooking begins to draw intense reactions from everyone who tastes it. One of those diners is Tom Bartlett, a pragmatic department store executive, and the connection between them grows as her fortunes change.
