A Walk Among the Tombstones

Matthew Scudder, a former New York police officer, now works as an unlicensed private investigator. A heroin trafficker, Kenny Kristo, reluctantly hires him to track down the men who kidnapped and brutally killed his wife. Scudder finds that this was not the first crime of its kind against people in the drug trade, and he sets out through the city's underworld to find those responsible before they strike again. A homeless teenage artist, TJ, becomes an important ally in his search.

The film is a crime thriller directed by Scott Frank, who also wrote the screenplay. It is his second feature as director, following The Lookout in 2007. Liam Neeson leads the cast as Scudder, with Dan Stevens, David Harbour, Boyd Holbrook, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and Astro in supporting roles. Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher served as producers. The film runs 114 minutes.

Released in September 2014, the production had a budget of 28 million dollars and took in around 59 million dollars worldwide. A critics' rating of 6.2 from 162 reviews places it close to the audience scores, suggesting a moderate overall response.
