Why Did I Get Married?

Why Did I Get Married? follows a group of college friends who now gather every year for a week-long holiday in the Colorado mountains. The couples have settled into comfortable, middle to upper class lives, and this year's trip is meant to be a chance to reconnect. Instead, the atmosphere changes when an infidelity within the group comes to light, and the other husbands and wives start examining their own marriages. At the center is Dr. Patricia Agnew, a psychotherapist who has written a bestselling book on marriage and who studies the four couples, her own included, as a kind of case study. The group also includes Terry and Dianne, whose disagreements turn on how much of her life her career occupies, Angela and Marcus, and Mike and Sheila.

Tyler Perry directed, wrote and produced the film, and appears as Terry. Sharon Leal, Janet Jackson, Malik Yoba, Jill Scott and Richard T. Jones head a credited cast of 24. It was the third of 29 films Perry has directed, following Daddy's Little Girls earlier in 2007 and preceding Meet the Browns in 2008.

Released on October 12, 2007, the film runs 113 minutes and was made for a budget of 15 million dollars, going on to take about 56 million dollars worldwide.
