Fired Up!

Shawn and Nick are the stars of their high school football team, but neither is eager to spend the summer at training camp. When they learn about a cheerleading camp, they come up with a plan to join the squad instead, drawn by the prospect of a summer surrounded by girls. Their scheme works, and the two settle into camp life until Shawn falls for Carly, a cheerleading captain who sees through their act. Winning her over while proving they belong on the team becomes harder than either expected.

Will Gluck directed and co-wrote the film with Freedom Jones. It was Gluck's first feature as director, followed by Easy A, Friends with Benefits, Annie, the two Peter Rabbit films, Anyone but You and One Night Only. Nicholas D'Agosto plays Shawn and Eric Christian Olsen plays Nick, with Sarah Roemer as Carly and Molly Sims, Danneel Ackles and David Walton in supporting roles.

The film was released in February 2009 and runs 90 minutes. Made for about 20 million dollars, it took in roughly 19 million worldwide, a modest return. Audiences rate it 6.1 out of 10 on IMDb from more than 45,000 votes and 6.1 out of 10 on TMDB from over 700 votes. A critics' score of 4.1 out of 10 from 107 reviews places it well below those audience marks.
