The Bachelor

Jimmie Shannon is a dedicated bachelor who avoids commitment until a botched marriage proposal drives his girlfriend, Anne, away. Shortly after her departure, Jimmie learns that his late grandfather left him a massive fortune, but only on the condition that he marries before his upcoming birthday. With very little time remaining, Jimmie must urgently find a spouse, leading him to contact former partners and use other desperate means to secure a wife in time to claim the inheritance.

This romantic comedy was directed by Gary Sinyor and written by Steve Cohen. The film stars Chris O'Donnell as Jimmie and Renée Zellweger as Anne, with a supporting cast that includes Artie Lange, Ed Asner, Hal Holbrook, and James Cromwell. Produced by New Line Cinema, The Lloyd Segan Company, and George Street Pictures, the movie had a budget of 51 million USD but earned 37 million USD at the worldwide box office.
