Cop Out
Short description
Jimmy Monroe and Paul Hodges have been partners in the New York police for nine years, yet they remain opposites. Their unpredictable behavior gets them suspended without pay, which is a serious problem for Jimmy, who needs money for his daughter's wedding. Since he is short on cash, he plans to sell a rare baseball card worth tens of thousands, but the card is stolen before he can complete the sale. With nothing left to lose, the two detectives set out after the card on their own, without backup, and the search leads them to a gangster obsessed with collectibles.
Bruce Willis plays Jimmy and Tracy Morgan plays Paul, with Adam Brody, Kevin Pollak, Ana de la Reguera and Guillermo Díaz in supporting roles. Kevin Smith directed the film, the ninth of the seventeen features he has directed, arriving between Zack and Miri Make a Porno and Red State, from a screenplay by Mark Cullen and Robb Cullen.
Made for around thirty million dollars, Cop Out earned roughly fifty-six million worldwide. Audiences are lukewarm on it: on IMDb it holds a 5.5 from about ninety-two thousand votes, and on TMDB a 5.6 from a much smaller group of voters. The critics' rating of four out of ten, drawn from 161 reviews, is lower still, leaving the film with a modest standing on both sides.

- In the opening interrogation scene, Tracy Morgan says the line "Yipee-ki-yay, motherfucker!", to which Willis replies that he hasn't seen that movie. This is a quote from "Die Hard", in which Bruce played the lead role.
