Night of the Demons

Angela hosts an extravagant Halloween party at the Broussard Mansion, a New Orleans residence with a dark reputation. When police shut the celebration down, Maddie and several friends stay behind, only to find the gates locked and their phones dead. What begins as an attempt to keep the night going turns into a fight for survival once the group uncovers a hidden secret and comes up against seven murderous demons.

This 2009 film is a remake of the 1988 horror movie of the same name. Adam Gierasch directed from a screenplay he wrote with Jace Anderson and Joe Augustyn; Kevin Tenney, who directed the original, is among the producers. The film followed Gierasch's 2008 debut Autopsy and came before Tales of Halloween (2015) and Spaghetti (2023). Monica Keena plays Maddie, with Shannon Elizabeth as Angela, Edward Furlong as Colin, and Diora Baird, Michael Copon and John F. Beach among the cast.

Made for about 10 million dollars and running 93 minutes, the film drew a critics' rating of 4.1/10 from 17 reviews, while on TMDB it holds 5.1/10 from just over 200 votes. The small gap between the two suggests a broadly similar, lukewarm response from reviewers and audiences alike at the time of writing.
