Teddy Yu, known in some versions as Yue Siu Bo, is a widowed chiropractor raising two children, Nicky and Natalie. He teaches them martial arts, but they have long since stopped taking his stories about a past life as a secret agent seriously, and the household is strained by their disbelief. That changes when Rocco, a former agent now using a wheelchair, confronts Teddy and demands the whereabouts of an operative called Dragon. When Teddy refuses to talk, Rocco sends men to take him, and Nicky and Natalie must turn the skills their father drilled into them against his enemies to get him back.
House of Fury is a 2005 Hong Kong action comedy directed by Stephen Fung, who also appears as Nicky; Anthony Wong plays the father, with Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi as the children and Michael Wong as Rocco. Written by Law Yiu-Fai and Fung, it was the first film Fung directed in a feature career that later continued with Tai Chi Zero, Tai Chi Hero and The Adventurers. The credited cast runs to 26 performers.
The film took in about 3 million dollars worldwide. It holds a 6.5 out of 10 rating on TMDB from roughly 70 votes, a modest but positive audience response for a family-centred martial arts comedy.
