A Good Marriage

Darcy Anderson has been married to Bob for twenty-five years and believes they share a comfortable, ordinary life. While her husband is away on one of his business trips, she searches the garage for batteries and comes across something that exposes a side of him she never suspected. The discovery forces her to reconsider the marriage she thought she understood and confront what her husband has been hiding.

The film is an adaptation of a Stephen King novella, with King himself writing the screenplay. Peter Askin directed, following his earlier features Company Man and Trumbo; this is the third film he directed. Joan Allen plays Darcy, with Anthony LaPaglia as Bob and supporting turns from Stephen Lang, Cara Buono, Kristen Connolly and Mike O'Malley. Reno Productions produced the 103-minute thriller.

Released in October 2014, the film drew modest audience scores: on IMDb it holds 5.3 out of 10 from around 14,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.3 out of 10 from roughly 529 votes. A critics' rating of 4.7 out of 10 from 22 reviews places it slightly below those audience figures, indicating a generally muted reception across both groups.
