Colin Diamond is a man in pieces. His wife Liz has been unfaithful, and the life he thought he had is gone. His closest friends decide to act on his behalf: they abduct her lover and hold him in a house, giving Colin the chance to take revenge. What follows is less a simple act of violence than a confrontation, as Colin and the men around him argue over what should be done with the captive. Colin himself is torn, and the longer the situation lasts, the more the pressure builds among them.
Malcolm Venville directed the film, his first feature, followed later by Henry's Crime and Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition. David Scinto and Louis Mellis wrote the screenplay. Ray Winstone plays Colin, with John Hurt, Ian McShane and Tom Wilkinson as his friends, Joanne Whalley as Liz and Melvil Poupaud as the lover. The production was British, with a credited crew of seventy.
On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.8 from around 7,300 votes, and on TMDB it stands at 5.5 from roughly 115 votes, placing it in modest territory with audiences. It runs 95 minutes and was released in October 2009.
