Clara, a lonely nurse living on the outskirts of São Paulo, takes a job as nanny for the unborn child of Ana, a wealthy and mysterious woman. The two grow close, but Clara comes to sense that something is wrong with the child Ana is carrying, and a fateful night upends both their lives. The film blends drama, fantasy and horror with musical passages, and its story moves between the two women's bond and the strangeness surrounding the baby.
