Mythica: A Quest for Heroes

Mythica: A Quest for Heroes follows Marek, a young woman with a rare gift for magic who longs for a life of adventure beyond her servitude. When she meets Teela, a priestess searching for her missing sister, Marek offers her help and assembles a small band of companions, among them the warrior Thane and the thief Dagen. Their journey takes them into dangerous territory as they pursue the kidnapped sister.

The film is the first entry in a fantasy series, directed by Anne K. Black, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin; the two also produced. Black returned to direct the following instalment, Mythica: The Darkspore, released in 2015. Melanie Stone leads the cast as Marek, with Adam Johnson, Jake Stormoen and Nicola Posener among the principal players; forty-one performers receive credit.

Released in December 2014 and running 93 minutes, the film sits at 5.9 out of 10 on TMDB from 171 votes, a modest reception for this opening chapter.
