Captive

Based on a true story, this crime thriller follows Ashley Smith, a woman struggling with drug addiction, who is taken hostage in her own home by Brian Nichols. Nichols is a fugitive who has killed a judge and other officials during a violent escape from custody. While trapped, Ashley reads a spiritual book by Rick Warren to her captor. Through these readings, she seeks a sense of purpose for her own life while attempting to guide Nichols toward a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
