Five teenagers in a small rural town stumble onto a grave and a set of occult items, and their dabbling brings Pumpkinhead back from the dead. This time the demon carries the soul of a boy who was murdered years earlier, which complicates any attempt to stop the killing.
The film follows Sheriff Sean Braddock, who has left New York for a quieter posting in the countryside, and his teenage daughter Jenny, who falls in with a local crowd. Jeff Burr directed, working from a screenplay by Constantine Chachornia and Ivan Chachornia, with Brad Krevoy and Steven Stabler producing. Burr's earlier credits include Stepfather 2, Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III and two Puppet Master entries; this was the fifth of the six films listed for him. Andrew Robinson plays the sheriff, with Ami Dolenz as Jenny, Soleil Moon Frye as Marcie, and J. Trevor Edmond, Hill Harper and Alexander Polinsky among the group of young leads. Around two dozen performers are credited.
Released in October 1995, the sequel runs 88 minutes and mixes fantasy, horror and thriller elements. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.7 from roughly 6,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.6 from about 205 votes, so the larger sample is noticeably less favourable than the smaller one.
