Mythica: The Iron Crown follows a young wizard named Marek, who has joined a band of misfit heroes. After they steal a steam-powered battle wagon, Marek takes the last remaining piece of the Darkspore, a cursed artifact that would grant immense power to whoever assembles it. She sets out to deliver it to the gods for safekeeping, but the group is caught between a squad of ruthless mercenaries and a trio of demons. As the necromancer Szorlok hunts the artifact so he can raise an undead army and overrun the living world, Marek has to find belief in herself before her friends are lost and the Darkspore falls into the wrong hands.
The film is a fantasy adventure directed by John Lyde, written by Jason Faller and produced by Jennifer Kirkham. It is the fourth entry in the Mythica series, arriving in 2016 between Lyde's Mythica: The Godslayer and his later work outside the franchise. Melanie Stone leads the cast as Marek. Adam Johnson, Jake Stormoen, Nicola Posener and Christopher Robin Miller are among the twenty-one credited performers.
Released in 2016, the film runs 93 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.5 from around 2,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 81 votes. The two scores come from very different sample sizes, with the larger IMDb group landing somewhat lower.
