A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits

Tessa Golden is expected to look after her stepmother Divine and stepsisters Olympia and Athena during a stay at the Royal Lagoons Resort, where the two sisters intend to audition for a live musical version of Cinderella headlined by pop star Reed West. Tessa has long wanted to perform but is too afraid to enter the competition openly. With help from a makeup artist she befriends, Georgie, she changes her appearance and auditions under a different name, forcing her to keep her two identities apart as her family's demands and the demands of the show collide.

Released in 2016, the film is a contemporary musical take on the Cinderella story, directed by Michelle Johnston from a screenplay by Elena Song. Sofia Carson plays Tessa, with Thomas Law as Reed West, Jennifer Tilly as Divine, Jazzara Jaslyn and Amy Louise Wilson as the stepsisters, and Nicole Fortuin as Georgie. It runs 92 minutes and belongs to the A Cinderella Story series. It was the first feature Johnston directed, followed by Blurt! and two further entries in the same series.

On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.6 from around 4,300 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.2 from roughly 871 votes, a notable gap between the two audiences.
