Short description
A man trapped in an automated prison must outsmart a computer in order to escape and try and find his way back to the outside world that may already be wiped out.
What's left behind the scenes
- A device borrowed from the military served as the robot guard, but as soon as filming began, its motor failed, so it had to be pushed around using a mop handle.
- The film's budget was very limited, and director Travis Milloy created almost all of the set decorations himself using the cheapest materials.
- Initially, the film was going to be called “Somnio,” which translates to “dream.” In the film, that’s what the device used to manipulate the dreams of prisoners was called, but the distributor decided that the title wasn’t suitable and renamed the film “Chamber of Infinity.”
- The location in the desert where Frank flees is the same one used in the opening scene of Steven Spielberg's sci-fi film Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977).
- The uniform Frank wears is the same one worn by Ben Foster in Christian Alvart's sci-fi action movie Pandorum (2009). Director Travis Millow (who served as screenwriter and executive producer on Pandorum) kept the uniform after filming, but didn't know what to do with it. Chris Kelly tried it on and it fit; since there was practically nothing allocated in the budget for costumes, it was decided to use the uniform.
