Leaving

Living in the south of France, Suzanne is a middle-aged woman married to a doctor with two adolescent children. Feeling bored by her bourgeois lifestyle, she decides to resume her career as a physiotherapist. While her husband arranges for a practice to be built on their property, Suzanne meets Ivan, a Spanish laborer who has spent time in prison. The two feel an immediate and intense attraction, leading Suzanne to risk her stable domestic life to pursue a passionate affair with him.

This drama and romance was directed by Catherine Corsini, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Gaëlle Macé. This project is the second film in Corsini's career, following Ballades and preceding Summertime. The cast features Kristin Scott Thomas as Suzanne, Sergi López as Ivan, and Yvan Attal as Samuel.
