All Good Things

All Good Things centres on David Marks, the son of a wealthy New York real estate family, who falls for Katie, a young woman from a very different background. They marry and try to build a life together, but David's behaviour grows increasingly erratic and controlling as Katie becomes more independent. When she disappears, suspicion falls on him. Years later, with a close friend found dead, a detective and a journalist reopen the case, and the Marks family's secrets come under scrutiny. The story is inspired by a notorious unsolved New York missing-person case.

The film is directed by Andrew Jarecki, whose feature credits begin with this 2010 release, followed years later by The Jinx: Part Two and The Alabama Solution. Marc Smerling and Marcus Hinchey wrote the screenplay. Ryan Gosling plays David and Kirsten Dunst plays Katie, with Frank Langella, Lily Rabe, Philip Baker Hall and Michael Esper among the credited cast of 52.

Made for a modest budget and released in December 2010, the film took in about 2 million USD worldwide. On TMDB it holds a 6.1 rating from just over a thousand votes, while the critics' score stands at 5.5 from 98 reviews, leaving critics slightly less enthusiastic than the audience.
