A Little Thing Called Love

Nam is a fourteen-year-old student at the start of secondary school, unremarkable in her own eyes and secretly in love with Shone, the most popular boy in the school. Encouraged by her friends, she sets out to change her appearance and win his attention, following a book of techniques for attracting a boy. Her efforts bring her closer to Shone, but the arrival of Top, an old friend of his, complicates the situation.

A Little Thing Called Love is a Thai romantic comedy from 2010, directed by Puttipong Promsaka Na Sakolnakorn and Wasin Pokpong, who also wrote the screenplay with Voraluk Klasukon. Prapas Cholsaranont produced it for Sahamongkolfilm, Workpoint Entertainment and Chez Klurr-5. Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul plays Nam and Mario Maurer plays Shone, heading a credited cast of forty-three that includes Sudarat Butrprom and Areerat Laohapol. The film runs 118 minutes.

The film has found a lasting audience beyond Thailand. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.6 from roughly 6,700 votes, while on TMDB its rating is 7.8 from a much smaller base of 138 votes. The two scores are close, and the far larger vote count on IMDb suggests the film's reputation rests on a broad, sustained viewership rather than on a brief response at the time of release.
