God of Gamblers II is a Hong Kong action comedy from 1990, written and directed by Wong Jing. It continues the story of All for the Winner and builds on the God of Gamblers series. Sing seeks out Michael "Dagger" Chan, hoping to be taken on as the next disciple of the famed gambler Ko Chun. The two men have little patience for each other, but when they learn that a gang boss wants to damage the God of Gamblers' reputation, they have to set their differences aside and work together.
Andy Lau plays Michael, with Stephen Chow as Sing. The cast also includes Charles Heung, Sharla Cheung, Ng Man-tat and Monica Chan Fat-yung, and fifty-eight performers are credited in total. Wong Jing wrote the screenplay, and Stanley Wu produced for Orange Sky Golden Harvest and Win's Movie Productions. The film runs 104 minutes and took in around 5 million dollars worldwide.
It was the third of the thirty-seven films Wong Jing has directed in chronological order, following Casino Raiders and preceding The Last Blood. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.8 from roughly 4,000 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 6.9 from 121 votes, so the two audiences are closely aligned in their view of the film.
