Da 5 Bloods

Four African American veterans of the Vietnam War return to the country decades later. Paul, Otis, Eddie and Melvin are looking for the remains of their squad leader, who was killed in action, and for a cache of gold they buried during the war. Paul's son David comes along, and the group's reunion with the jungle and with their own past sets off a struggle against both the landscape and other people.

Spike Lee directed and co-wrote the film, the twenty-fifth of twenty-six features he has directed in chronological order, following Pass Over and preceding Highest 2 Lowest. Lee wrote the screenplay with Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo, and produced it with Lloyd Levin and Jon Kilik. Delroy Lindo leads the cast as Paul, alongside Jonathan Majors, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Mélanie Thierry.

The production had a budget of 40 million US dollars. On IMDb the film holds a rating of 6.5 out of 10 from around 57,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.4 out of 10 from roughly 1,200 votes. A critics' rating of 8 out of 10 from 316 reviews places it noticeably above the audience scores. It runs 155 minutes and was released in June 2020.
