Short description
Goody and Stacy are two young vampires enjoying New York's nightlife, club hopping and dating their way through the city while keeping their true nature hidden. Goody was turned in the nineteenth century, so she has never quite adjusted to smartphones and social media, whereas Stacy is recent enough to fit in among humans and even attends night school. Their comfortable arrangement is disrupted when Stacy falls for a classmate, Joey, who turns out to be the son of a vampire hunter, and Goody also meets someone she genuinely cares about. Each woman faces a choice between a chance at love and the immortality she has built her life around.
Amy Heckerling wrote and directed the film, which came after I Could Never Be Your Woman in a career that includes Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Look Who's Talking and Clueless. Alicia Silverstone, who starred in Clueless for Heckerling, plays Goody, with Krysten Ritter as Stacy, Dan Stevens as Joey and Wallace Shawn as Dr. Van Helsing among a credited cast of 32. The production had a budget of about 16 million USD.
