Short description
A "National Geographic" film crew is taken hostage by an insane hunter, who takes them along on his quest to capture the world's largest - and deadliest - snake.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Around a dozen live snakes, two mechanical snakes weighing almost a ton, and, of course, an incalculable number of virtual snakes were used in the filming.
  • Jennifer Lopez’s character was originally named Terry Porter.
  • Jean Reno was considered for the role of Paul Sarone.
  • Gillian Anderson and Julianna Margulies declined the role of Terry Flores.
  • During the filming of one of the scenes inside the animatronic anaconda, the circuits short-circuited, and it went completely out of control. Some footage of the anaconda in this state made it into the film.
  • In reality, anacondas have round pupils. In this film, they were made slightly slanted to give the creature a more menacing appearance.
