Short description
In the near future, a 'Grand Lottery' has been established - the catch: kill the winner before sundown to legally claim their multi-billion dollar jackpot. When Katie Kim mistakenly finds herself with the winning ticket, she reluctantly joins forces with amateur lottery protection agent Noel Cassidy who must get her to sundown in exchange for a piece of her prize.
What's left behind the scenes
- Director and producer Paul Feig initially wanted to title the film “Grand Theft Lotto” (as a play on “Grand Theft Auto”), but the creators of the video game series objected.
- Awkwafina, as Katy, recites Samuel L. Jackson's monologue from the science fiction horror film “Deep Blue Sea” (Renny Harlin, 1999) during the audition.
- John Cena (who appeared on screen as Noel) is a passionate fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He has figurines of two turtles – Donatello and Michelangelo – on his table, and these are not film props, but his own personal figurines.
