Short description
A group of tourists visiting New Orleans embarks on a night tour of the local swamplands. Their trip turns deadly when they become stranded in the wilderness and are hunted by Victor Crowley, a deformed spirit who was killed by his father with an axe. The visitors must fight for survival against this malevolent force in the remote bayou.

What's left behind the scenes
- During post-production, a rule established by screenwriter and director Adam Green was in effect: "no computer technology." They resorted to it only once, to remove wires from the screen.
- Riley Vanderbilt volunteered to play the disfigured young Victor Crowley when the makeup artists needed a volunteer to test the character's mask. The mask was fitted to the contours of her face for a screen test, and it looked so natural that the role was given to the actress.
- Actor Joel Moore actually vomited in front of the camera.
