Three aspiring rappers named Postmaster P, Stray Bullet and Butch struggle to get a hearing from Mack Daddy, a local hip-hop producer who dismisses their clean-cut lyrics. To pay for studio time and equipment, they break into his office, where they find the source of his success: a magic flute. The theft also revives a leprechaun who had been frozen in place for years, and he now wants back both the flute and the gold that was taken from him. The three friends find their fortunes rising while the producer and the leprechaun pursue them.
The film is a comedy-horror entry in the Leprechaun series, directed by Rob Spera from a screenplay credited to Jon Huffman and Doug Hall. Warwick Davis returns as the leprechaun, with Ice-T as Mack Daddy and Anthony Montgomery, Rashaan Nall and Red Grant as the rappers, alongside Bebe Drake. It was released in 2000 and runs 90 minutes.
Audience response has been weak: on IMDb it holds 3.8 out of 10 from roughly 9,400 votes, and on TMDB 4.9 out of 10 from about 271 votes. A critics' rating of 3.7 out of 10 from 10 reviews places it close to the audience scores, indicating broad agreement rather than a divided reception. For Spera, the film was his first directing credit, made before Sexual Predator the following year.
