Run All Night

Jimmy Conlon, a longtime Brooklyn hit man once known as the Gravedigger, is a man worn down by the crimes he has committed and by the detective who has spent three decades trying to catch him. His closest remaining tie is to Shawn Maguire, the mob boss he has served for years. Jimmy has long been estranged from his son Mike, so when Mike stumbles into a killing and becomes a target of the organization, Jimmy has to decide where his loyalty lies. With nowhere left to hide, he has one night to protect the son he abandoned and settle accounts with the life he chose.

Jaume Collet-Serra directed the film, the sixth of thirteen features in his career, following Non-Stop and preceding The Shallows. Brad Ingelsby wrote the screenplay, and Liam Neeson plays Jimmy, with Joel Kinnaman as Mike, Ed Harris as Shawn Maguire, Vincent D'Onofrio as Detective Harding, Bruce McGill as Pat Mullen and Génesis Rodríguez as Gabriela Conlon. The production, shot under a budget of about 50 million dollars, brought in roughly 72 million dollars worldwide, a modest return relative to its cost.

Its IMDb score of 6.6 from 120,000 votes and TMDB score of 6.4 from over 3,000 votes indicate a generally favourable but unenthusiastic audience, while critics were less convinced, giving it 5.7 out of 10 across 184 reviews.
