Hitman: Agent 47

Hitman: Agent 47 centres on a genetically engineered killer known only by the barcode tattooed on the back of his head. He is the culmination of a program that produced a line of enhanced assassins, and his latest assignment brings him into contact with Katia, a young woman searching for her missing father, a scientist connected to the project that created him. What begins as a routine job turns into something more complicated, because the secrets Katia is chasing are bound up with his own origins, and a rival operative calling himself John Smith is pursuing her as well. The two end up working together against the forces trying to control the technology behind him.

The film was directed by Aleksander Bach, working from a screenplay by Skip Woods and Michael Finch, and its cast includes Rupert Friend as the title character, Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware, Emilio Rivera, Rolf Kanies and Thomas Kretschmann. It is an adaptation of the Hitman video game series, released in 2015, and runs 96 minutes.

Made for a budget of 35 million dollars, it took in about 82 million dollars worldwide. Reception was modest: on IMDb it holds 5.7 out of 10 from roughly 101,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.9 out of 10 from more than 3,000 votes, while a critics' rating of 3.8 out of 10 from 130 reviews places professional response below the audience scores.
