Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave follows Julian Garrison and his friends, who have survived a previous zombie outbreak and are now trying to settle into college life. Julian and Jenny come across a hidden barrel of chemicals, which Julian suspects is connected to the experiments of his uncle Charles. Rather than report it, Cody sees a way to make quick money: he turns the substance into a party drug and begins selling it around campus. The drug earns the nickname "Z," and no one realizes what it actually does until Halloween, when a rave full of students who have taken it turns into a zombie outbreak. The partygoers initially mistake the walking dead for people in realistic costumes.
Ellory Elkayem directed the film, which was released in 2005 and runs 95 minutes. It is a TV movie made in Romania and the United States. Elkayem's earlier film was Eight Legged Freaks in 2002, and the facts list Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis as following this film chronologically, though the two share the same release year. The screenplay is by William Butler and Aaron Strongoni, and the cast includes John Keefe, Jenny Mollen, Cory Hardrict, Aimee-Lynn Chadwick, Peter Coyote and Claudiu Bleonţ.
Audience response has been weak. On IMDb the film holds a rating of 3.3 from around 5,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.1 from a much smaller base of about 230 votes.
