Pitch Perfect 2

Pitch Perfect 2 continues the story of the Barden Bellas, an all-female a cappella group whose members are nearing the end of their time at university. After an embarrassing mishap during a performance in front of the President of the United States, the group is barred from the college competition circuit. With their reputation damaged, the Bellas set out to restore it by entering an international a cappella championship in Copenhagen, a title no American team has ever won. A new freshman, Emily, joins the group, while the returning members must balance rehearsals with their uncertain plans for life after graduation. The main conflict centers on whether the singers can hold together and beat the reigning German champions.

The film is directed by Elizabeth Banks, her second feature after Movie 43 and the second entry in a series that began with Pitch Perfect. Kay Cannon wrote the screenplay, and Banks produced with Paul Brooks and Max Handelman. Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Hailee Steinfeld and Rebel Wilson lead a large cast that also includes Ester Dean and Adam Devine.

Released in 2015, the film runs 115 minutes and is a comedy with music. Made for about 29 million dollars, it earned roughly 287 million dollars worldwide, a strong return on its budget. On IMDb it holds 6.4/10 from around 180,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.8/10 from a much smaller base of voters. A film critics' rating of 6.1/10 from 215 reviews places it close to the audience scores.
