The Night Before
Short description
The Night Before follows three lifelong friends who have spent every Christmas Eve together for years, carrying on a tradition of partying through New York City. With adulthood pulling them in different directions, they decide this year's celebration could be their last, so they set out to find the most sought-after holiday party in the city. Their search turns into a long night of misadventures as they try to make the most of their time together.
The film was directed by Jonathan Levine, who wrote the screenplay with Evan Goldberg and Kyle Hunter. It was produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver, and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Ethan, Seth Rogen as Isaac and Anthony Mackie as Chris, with Lizzy Caplan, Jillian Bell and Mindy Kaling in supporting roles. It was released in November 2015 and runs 101 minutes.
Made for a budget of 25 million dollars, the film took in about 52 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.4 from around 90,000 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 6.1 from over 1,800 votes. A critics' rating of 6 out of 10 comes from 157 reviews, placing it broadly in line with audience scores rather than far above or below them.
