Mythica: The Darkspore

Mythica: The Darkspore continues the story of Marek, a young sorceress who travels with a small band of companions. An evil wizard, Szorlok, is hunting the scattered pieces of an artifact called the Darkspore, and whoever gathers them all would gain enormous power. Marek and her friends set out to find the fragments first, crossing lands filled with hostile creatures and pursued by bounty hunters, and their journey tests the bonds between them. The film is a fantasy adventure from Arrowstorm Entertainment, released in 2015.

It is the second entry in the Mythica series, following Mythica: A Quest for Heroes the previous year, and both were directed by Anne K. Black, who also wrote the screenplay with Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin. Melanie Stone returns as Marek, alongside Adam Johnson, Jake Stormoen, Nicola Posener, Rocky Myers and Christopher Robin Miller among the thirty-one credited cast members. Running just under two hours, it is a modest independent production rather than a large studio release.

The film has a mixed reception. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.2 from roughly 4,100 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 5.7 from about 133 votes. The two scores are close, suggesting a similar response from the audiences who have seen it, with the small number of votes on TMDB reflecting the series' limited reach compared with its larger footprint on IMDb.
