12 Rounds 3: Lockdown follows detective John Shaw, who returns to duty after recovering from a gunshot wound sustained in an incident that also killed his partner. Back at work, he finds evidence implicating fellow officers in illegal activity, and they respond by framing him for a murder he did not commit. Confined inside his own precinct, Shaw tries to prove his innocence and expose those responsible.

The film is directed by Stephen Reynolds, whose previous features were Tomb Raider Ascension and Vendetta, and it came before his 2016 film Interrogation. The screenplay is by Nathan Brookes and Bobby Lee Darby, produced by Michael J. Luisi for WWE Studios and Lionsgate. It is the third entry in the 12 Rounds series, though it stands apart from the earlier films and shifts the setting to a single police building. Jonathan David Good plays Shaw, with Roger Cross as Tyler Burke, Daniel Cudmore as Gideon, Lochlyn Munro as Darrow and Sarah Smyth as Officer Jenny Taylor. Twenty-four cast members and eighty-three crew members are credited.
