Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens

Five years after the East Coast was devastated in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, Fin Shepard and his family have settled into a quiet life without shark-filled storms. The threat returns during a Las Vegas holiday, when sharks are carried through the air and strike the city. The creatures turn up in places and forms nobody anticipated, and Fin, his wife April, and the wider Shepard family, including his father Gil and April's father Wilford, must work together against them. A businessman named Aston Reynolds and his company are developing a system intended to stabilize the atmosphere, but the renewed attacks upend any sense of safety.

Anthony C. Ferrante directed this fourth entry in the series, the fifth film in his directing career in chronological order, following Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! and preceding Sharknado 5: Global Swarming. Thunder Levin wrote the screenplay, David Michael Latt produced, and the large credited company includes 78 cast members and 67 crew members. Ian Ziering returns as Fin, with Tara Reid, David Hasselhoff, Gary Busey, Ryan Whitney Newman and Tommy Davidson appearing alongside him.

Released on July 31, 2016, the film runs 90 minutes and is a comedy and science-fiction production from the United States, made by The Asylum and Syfy. On IMDb it holds a rating of 3.9 out of 10 from around 9,800 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 4.5 out of 10 from 417 votes. A critics' rating of 3.7 out of 10 from 14 reviews places it close to, though slightly below, the audience scores.
