Furious

In 13th-century Rus, Mongol forces under Batu Khan have swept across most of the known world and now advance toward Europe, meeting little resistance as they burn the remaining Russian principalities. One young Ryazan knight, Evpatii Kolovrat, gathers a small band of fighters to strike back against the invaders, defending their homeland and avenging what the Mongols have taken from them. The story draws on the historical legend of Evpatii Kolovrat and sets his doomed stand against Batu Khan's army.

The film is a Russian production directed by Dzhanik Fayziev and Ivan Shurkhovetskiy, with a screenplay by Sergey Yudakov, Dmitriy Paltsev and Dmitriy Raevskiy. Ilya Malakov plays Evpatii, alongside Aleksandr Tsoy as Batu Khan, Andrey Burkovskiy, Aleksandr Ilyin Jr, Aleksey Serebryakov and Timofey Tribuntsev. It was released in November 2017 and runs 117 minutes. Made for about 6 million dollars, it earned roughly 11 million worldwide, a solid return relative to its cost. It is the earliest of the three features Fayziev has directed, preceding Cosmoball in 2020. Audiences rate it 6.1 out of 10 on IMDb across some 4,200 votes and 6.1 out of 10 on TMDB from a smaller pool of 166.
