Juliet Devereau, a doctor in New York, is starting over after separating from her husband. She finds a spacious loft at a rent that seems too low for what it offers, and the landlord, Max, is friendly and attentive. What Juliet does not know is that the building holds more than the rooms she sees. Strange disturbances and a growing sense that she is being watched make her doubt that she is alone there, and the arrangement that looked like good fortune becomes a trap.
Antti J. Jokinen directed the film, his first feature, from a screenplay he wrote with Robert Orr. Hilary Swank plays Juliet, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Max, Lee Pace as her husband Jack, Christopher Lee as Max's grandfather August, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as Sydney, and Sean Rosales as Carlos. Hammer Film Productions and Exclusive Media produced the film on a budget of about 20 million dollars. It runs 91 minutes.
On TMDB, the film holds a rating of 5.8 out of 10 from 692 votes, which suggests a mixed response from viewers rather than a broadly admired thriller. Jokinen went on to direct The Midwife in 2015 and Son of Revenge – The Story of Kalevala in 2026.
