The Inbetweeners Movie

The Inbetweeners Movie follows four friends from a London suburb who finish school and head to Crete for a fortnight of freedom without parents or teachers. Will, Jay, Simon and Neil arrive with high expectations of parties and romance, but the reality of their holiday proves far less glamorous. Short of money and short of luck, they stumble through the local nightlife, and the trip becomes a series of embarrassing setbacks before the four of them find companionship with a group of British girls staying nearby.

Ben Palmer directed the film, his first feature, released in 2011. Damon Beesley and Iain Morris wrote the screenplay. Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas reprise the roles they played in the television series, with Emily Head and Lydia Rose Bewley among the supporting cast.

Made for about five million dollars, the film took roughly eighty-eight million dollars worldwide, a strong return for a British comedy. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.7 from around ninety-one thousand votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.2 from just over a thousand votes. A critics' rating of 5.3 from fifty-one reviews places it below the audience scores. Palmer went on to direct Bad Sugar in 2012 and Man Up in 2015.
