Puncture

Puncture is a legal drama set in Houston, where a young attorney named Mike Weiss takes on the case of a nurse who was injured by a contaminated needle. What begins as a straightforward personal injury claim widens into a confrontation with the manufacturers of medical safety equipment, whose business interests have kept a protective design off the market. Mike's law partner, Paul Danziger, works alongside him, and the two find themselves up against corporate opponents with far greater resources than their own. At the same time, Mike's drug use threatens both his practice and his ability to see the case through.

The film was directed by Adam Kassen and Mark Kassen, who also appears as Paul Danziger. It was their first feature together, followed years later by PH-1. Chris Lopata wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes Chris Evans as Mike Weiss, Michael Biehn, Vinessa Shaw as the nurse Vicky Rogers, Kate Burton and Brett Cullen. It runs 100 minutes.

Released in September 2011, Puncture drew a 5.6 rating from 42 critics on review aggregators, notably lower than its audience scores of 6.8 on IMDb from around 26,000 votes and 6.7 on TMDB. The gap suggests critics were harder on the film than general viewers.
