Set in the final period of the Carlist Wars in northern Spain, this Spanish-French drama follows a young girl who survives the destruction of her orphanage. Rescued by a mysterious woman living in the forest, she is gravely wounded and believes she has been taken by an angel. She recovers, but an attack on their hiding place leaves her alone in the mountains, where she discovers her condition has changed: she can no longer bear daylight or live as an ordinary child. As time passes she remains trapped in a child's body, until she meets Cándido, a humble man who takes her in as his own daughter.
Igor Legarreta directed and co-wrote the film with Jon Sagalá; it was his first feature, followed by Blind Ants in 2026. Shot in Basque and Spanish, it draws on Basque landscapes and folklore. The cast includes Itziar Ituño, Haizea Carneros, Josean Bengoetxea, Zorion Eguileor and Elena Uriz. On IMDb it holds 6.6/10 from around 1,400 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.4/10 from a much smaller base of about 73 votes, so the higher figure reflects far fewer viewers.
