Chillerama

Chillerama is an anthology horror comedy built around a marathon of lost films at what is presented as the last drive-in theater in America. The owner, Cecil Kaufman, has assembled four rare prints never before shown publicly in the country, and the evening's program unfolds as a series of segments parodying different eras of exploitation and B-movie cinema. The running order includes a giant-monster spoof, a musical werewolf story, a black-and-white Frankenstein tale set around Hitler, and a zombie picture that spills out of the screen and into the drive-in itself.

The film is a four-way directorial effort from Joe Lynch, Adam Green, Adam Rifkin and Tim Sullivan, who also share writing credits with Rifkin and Sullivan. For Lynch it followed Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, and it sits between Hatchet II and Victor Crowley in Green's filmography; for Sullivan it came after 2001 Maniacs, and for Rifkin it arrived after Look in a directing career that began with The Invisible Maniac. The large ensemble, credited at 38 cast members, is led by Richard Riehle as Cecil Kaufman, with Adam Rifkin, Ray Wise, Sarah Mutch, Eric Roberts and Owen Benjamin appearing in the giant-monster segment.

Released in October 2011 and running two hours, the film received a mixed response. On IMDb it holds a 5.5 rating from around 5,200 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.7 from a much smaller base of 134 votes. A critics' rating of 5.5 from seven reviews places it close to the audience scores.
