Three outlaw brothers in the American South take on a job for a woman who wants her son back from a violent ex-husband. Brick, McQueen and Lincoln Oodie are known for brawling and trouble, and what begins as a simple recovery turns into a running fight as a sheriff, a drug investigator and the boy's father all close in on them.
Barry Battles directed and wrote the screenplay with Griffin Hood. The film is a low-budget independent production, made for about four million dollars through State Street Pictures and Lleju Productions. Clayne Crawford, Travis Fimmel and Daniel Cudmore play the three brothers, with Thomas Brodie-Sangster as the boy, Andre Braugher as Millard and Paul Wesley as Reese. The credited cast runs to 56 names.
Released in 2012 and running 98 minutes, the film mixes action, crime and comedy. On IMDb it holds a 6.3 rating from around 17,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6 out of 10 from roughly 354 votes, so ordinary viewers have been moderately positive and the audience sample on the larger site is far bigger. A critics' rating of 4.2 out of 10 from 26 reviews is clearly lower than those audience scores, placing the film well short of critical approval even though it found a reasonably receptive public.
