Short description
An unconventional officer from the Bobigny suburbs and an ambitious captain from the Paris criminal police are forced to work together after the wife of a powerful French industrialist is found dead. As they investigate the murder, the two men must overcome their vast cultural and professional differences. Their partnership takes them between the high-society circles of Paris and the clandestine activities of the outskirts, eventually uncovering a conspiracy involving corruption at the highest levels of power.
Directed by David Charhon, this action-comedy was the first of three films listed in his career, preceding The Last Mercenary and The Gardener. The screenplay was co-written by Charhon along with actors Laurent Lafitte and Ismaël Sy Savané. The film stars Omar Sy as Ousmane Diakhité and Laurent Lafitte as François Monge, with a credited cast of 23 people.
The production earned 25 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is modest, with a rating of 5.8/10 from 6,400 votes on IMDb and a score of 5.6/10 from 711 votes on TMDB.
What's left behind the scenes
- At the beginning of the film, Usman and François (played by Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte, respectively) come to André Marcon's character with the news that his wife has been killed. The building where the scene takes place (here a restaurant) was also used in the comedy "Intouchables" (2011) by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, where Sy played Driss. Nakache and Toledano's comedy was filmed more than a year before David Charon’s, but the building looks completely unchanged, down to the pictures on the walls inside and the ornamental shrubs outside.
