Z Storm is a crime thriller centering on a major financial conspiracy in Hong Kong. William Luk, a dedicated investigator for the ICAC, leads his team in an effort to dismantle a complex fraud scheme and protect the city's reputation. The investigators face off against the corrupt Superintendent Wong, who acts on behalf of Malcolm Wu, a ruthless stock trader. The conflict stems from Wu's attempts to seize a multi-billion dollar share of the government pension fund's upcoming float.
Directed by David Lam, the film was released in 2014 and is the second in a series of his works, following Women's Prison and preceding S Storm, L Storm, P Storm, and G Storm. The screenplay was written by Wong Ho-Wa, with production handled by Sil-Metropole Organisation, Pegasus Motion Pictures, and LeVision Pictures. The main cast features Louis Koo as Luk, Lam Ka-tung as Wong, and Michael Wong as Wu, alongside Dada Chan Ching, Xia Yan, and Lo Hoi-pang.
Audience reception for the movie is mixed. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 5.4/10 based on 976 votes, while on TMDB it has a slightly higher score of 6/10 from 54 votes.
