New Kung Fu Cult Master 2

New Kung Fu Cult Master 2 continues the story of Zhang Wuji, the young leader drawn into the feuds of the martial world. When the masters of the great sects are trapped in Wan On Temple and stripped of their fighting abilities by the Ten Scents Poisonous Powder, Zhang Wuji sets out to confront Zhao Min in order to free them. The film follows the tangled loyalties between Zhang Wuji and the women around him, among them Zhao Min, Xiao Zhao and Zhou Zhiruo, as rival factions compete for power.

Wong Jing directed and wrote the screenplay, and also produced, with Venus Keung sharing directing duties. It is the thirty-fourth film Wong Jing has directed, arriving directly after the first New Kung Fu Cult Master in the same year and before Queen of Triads 2. Keung's directing credits place it between New Kung Fu Cult Master and Chasing the Dragon. Raymond Lam Fung stars as Zhang Wuji, with Janice Man as Zhao Min, Yun Qianqian as Xiao Zhao, Sabrina Qiu as Zhou Zhiruo, Alex Fong Chung-Sun as Yan Xiao and Elvis Tsui Kam-Kong as the Lion King.

The production was a Hong Kong and mainland Chinese co-production running just under two hours. Audience response has been modest: on IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.4 from roughly 360 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 4.8 from a much smaller number of votes.
