Bad Moon

Bad Moon follows Ted Harrison, a photojournalist who is attacked by a werewolf while working abroad. He survives the encounter but carries a curse: night after night, he transforms into a predatory beast. Hoping that the affection of his family might break the affliction, he invites himself to stay with his sister Janet and her young son Brett at their secluded home in the woods. The household dog, Thor, senses that something about Ted has changed and treats him as a threat, setting up a conflict between the animal's instincts and the secret Ted is trying to keep hidden. The film is based on Wayne Smith's novel Thor.

Eric Red wrote and directed the film, which was his first outing as a director; his second, 100 Feet, came twelve years later. Mariel Hemingway plays Janet, Michael Paré takes the role of Ted, Mason Gamble appears as Brett, and Hrothgar Mathews, Ken Pogue and Johanna Marlowe round out the cast. James G. Robinson produced the project for Morgan Creek, with a budget of 7 million dollars. It earned around 1 million dollars worldwide, a small return against its cost.

Audience response has been warmer than that of critics. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.7 out of 10 from more than 300 votes, while the critics' rating stands at 3.7 out of 10 from ten reviews. The film runs 80 minutes.
